dust, you could be waiting quite a long time. 152k on the odometer and still kicks ass. I'm going to do the swap over the summer probably, but then again, I know what I'm doing with the z. If you don't know how to work on the z, you might as well wait until you are out of college and can afford the costly repairs. If you know what you are doing (and not just think you know what you are doing), then it really isn't that bad. Recomendations on the tt swap. Get a clip, don't just buy an engine, you will spend more money in the long run. The clip comes with the tranny which is essentially the same, except if you wanted to use the NA tranny, you would have to put a spacer in the starter. Like I said before, you will have many miles on the NA most likely before the engine kicks the bucket, so will the tranny. Might as well change it while you are there, eh? So what else does the clip have? How about the computer and intercoolers and piping that you would also need. That isn't cheap. Basically pays for itself right there. You even get a tt bumper (if it is in decent condition) where you would need to buy a new fascia if you buy the motor outright. You also need a fuel pump and boost guage, these would need to be purchased seperately reguardless. Basically, you are in way over your head. It isn't going to be a profitable investment if you ever decide to sell the car. You will most likely have reliability issues when you start modding (and you will). If you think it will be only a little bit more for someone else to do it, guess again. Some have spent an extra 10grand into a swap (modding of course). It really isn't worth it for you. And if you think you are subborn and think you can learn on the z32, guess again. I would learn how a wrench works on another vehicle. Pull some motors out of other cars before you ruin a perfectly good z.
Funny thing is my girlfriend says I'm too fast. Go figure ~jonnyz (DC)
